WHY TREAT YOURSELF TO THE LUXURY OF SUSTAINABLE CASHMERE?
Cashmere is an incredibly special thing indeed. Of course, we would say that – cashmere is our passion in life. We love cashmere for its softness, warmth, and beautiful looks, and we want to share it with you in all its glory.
There’s cashmere, and then there’s Knüg cashmere. Our collection is produced to high environmental standards, with non-toxic dyes, no bleaching and by artisans who are paid well and work in the best possible conditions. Hypoallergenic and fully recyclable – not that you’ll ever want to let your cashmere go – our cashmere collection brings fully-sustainable luxury straight to your wardrobe.
WHAT IS CASHMERE?
Cashmere is a super-soft fibre that is combed from the underbelly of breeds of goats traditionally found in countries including Mongolia and some areas of China. The combed fibres are expertly woven into yarn and textiles and are highly valued for their strength – and for their lightweight, insulating qualities.
It’s this combination of softness and strength that makes pure cashmere look and feel so beautiful and has led to it becoming one of the most sought-after fibres for high-end fashion.
WHY CHOOSE KNÜG CASHMERE?
Knüg is a small business with years of experience in sourcing beautiful fabrics from India, Indonesia and Turkey. We regularly head out to meet manufacturers and make sure we are buying the best quality yarns and materials for our customers. About 10 years ago, we discovered a small family business in Nepal, making beautiful eco-friendly cashmere pieces. It’s a fantastic business – the artisans are very well paid, and the factory ensures that families are supported, and children go to school. We fell in love with the garments and with the emphasis on working sustainably and healthily. Now, we source all our 100% Grade A cashmere garments from this incredible business and work closely with them on design, colour and production.
